No, it's not. The mods didn't feeling like typing out the exact reason why the ban was handed out, but the person surely deserved it.

Check dr621's user record and his comments.

He was using the site as a personal image host and kept uploading art without asking permission from the artists. When asked to stop he kept doing it.

Why are you dredging up bans from over two years ago? Mellis isn't even here anymore.

I read through the records for fun.

A lot of the entries makes me feel smart by comparison.

Some of the ban reasons ARE funny. In fact, the better ones spawned an epic bans forum thread. Come to think of it, I wonder if any good ones have been added lately...

Seems to me like this user is just dredging up Mellis-era shit to spark drama.

The old mods didn't place much value on providing documented reasons for their bans. That's not to say, however, that the users didn't deserve it. Most of the blank or ambiguous bans were just for ban evasion. Things are completely different these days, so I don't even know why you're bringing it up.

We seriously avoid using ban reasons like that anymore because it's immature and doesn't help at all when we actually need to know WHY someone was blocked.

However, we would never ban for one bad tag nowadays unless they already have a history of tag vandalism.
