Topic: Does Lube Make That Much of a Difference?

Posted under Off Topic

I'm going to guess that there are probably a lot of people on this site who have experimented with anal play, and I can't be bothered signing up to a forum, I will probably post on once, so here goes;

I like analplay, and I usually just use spit to slide my fingers in, but from what I've heard, actual lube is much better, so does it really make that much of a difference? Or is spit mostly sufficient, and also, if so, how much of a difference does it make?

Spit is actually pretty decent lube, but for anything more than a finger, I'd definitely suggest some lube.

Lube works better, last longer, and it's a lot easier to get a high volume of it.

Thanks a lot!

Lube does make very drastic difference. It also *mostly* doesn't evaporate as quickly as spit, and will go further.... So, I'd recommend giving it a try some time... (real lube, not just, y'know, ky jelly. Astroglide or something KY is gross)

Oh hell no!

Spit is about next to useless. Even water is crap (bad pun unintended).

But not wanting to bluntly share my opinion in a rude manner, I do say it's from experience that I speak. Lube is really necessary and makes experience more enjoyable in general.
And, as Hammie so well said, among others, bigger volumes make lube a must.

Again, it's personal opinion, preference and experience. It certainly varies. Like my lube, it's actually some recommended almond massage oil or something ahah! I only know it's safe enough.

It depends on what you are inserting in there and how much "experience" you have doing it. Any first timer I highly recommend some kind of water-based lubricant, even if it's fairly small.

Someone "experienced" can probably get by with just saliva (though saliva tends to stop working very quickly), however lubricant is deigned specifically to resist friction and lasts much longer.

On a side note, avoid flavored lubes, they lose consistency quickly (need to add saliva or water to reactivate) and generally have some kind of aftertaste.

As Jamie always says. "You can never have enough lard lube."

Spit is better than water/nothing, but not by a whole lot. I definitely suggest using something, regardless of what you're inserting. I've had no complaints using KY Lubricant (the water-based stuff in the bottle, not the jelly in the tube), but I've not tried Astroglide myself. I hear it's great. Unless you enjoy the pain of friction (not judging if you do, I just personally don't), using lube eases that and lets you focus on the feelings of "fullness," the sensation of the actual insertion and removal of whatever you're using, the pain of stretching (which I find more enjoyable than the friction), and so on.

I love you.

(When in doubt, 4 inches? There's another joke in here somewhere.)

Spit is a terrible lube. Just use water-based lube from the grocery store. Sheesh.

Blood is the opposite of a lubricant. Blood coagulates. Blood is not lube. If there is blood, stop immediately. See doctor.

Your grocery store sells lube?

Most do if they have a pharmacy section, which most do.
