As I mentioned in forum #25108, this thread is to discuss how to better define the cowgirl position wiki. It's quite important, given that it will define how to use said tag.

Here's how I see it:
Option 1: When the bottom is on their back with the top facing them, with the top's legs over their crotch like a saddle. Examples:

Both of them. I see cowgirl position simply as one person laying on their back, with another person straddling their hips, facing them. I've never heard of these ridiculously specific requirements like angle of penetration.

Eh, I was just quoting Wikipedia on the angle bit. Seemed legit.

Well, looking around at Wikipedia, SexInfo101, and other places, it either is a cowgirl variant, or else it's just plain "woman on top."

Meh just leave it as it is, don't think we need bunch of tags for obscure positions

I keep my stance from the previous discussion. And I say that post #166148 could either be cowgirl_position+leaning_forward, or just girl_on_top.

Not so sure about girl/female/woman on top being a tag though. After all, we have this picture. post #147805
The receiver is clearly not female. This would be either cuntboy_on_top, or cowgirl_position.
Now, I'm for keeping gender specifics out of tags, so I would pick the latter tag to be used on this post, or any other posts where intersexed characters are involved.

I'd also like to eliminate gender specifics, but what other name could we use besides cowgirl_position? Cowgirl_position sounds fine though, but I don't care if it's aliased to something else.

cowgirl + leaning forward = missionary

The fourth picture in the OP sort of blurs the line, as if the person on top is leaning at a 45 degree angle then they're right in between missionary and cowgirl.

For the sake of clarity I'd say missionary is only when both partners are completely parallel to one another; anything else would be cowgirl.

Yeah. Missionary is penetrating partner on top, penetrated partner on bottom, lying on back. It's not really gendered, but it is about who is penetrating whom.

Positions specifically are coitus-neutral; As in, they do not require sex to be going on to be classified as a position. It's the same as calling it a pose, but it is mainly used in sexual situations and is more commonly known by the term position. I'd use it for everything but the gator/bird one, which is just woman_on_top as they are relatively parallel to each other.

Just bending over? nope, since that's not the 'classical' definition for doggystyle anyways. On hands and knees with butt up against the other? Positionally, yup. Just lying atop someone being missionary? nope. The person on bottom has to have their legs either spread flat, drawn up toward the chest, or wrapped around the other person's back or legs.
