Topic: Soft Deletion

Posted under General

It's nice and all, but is there still any way to "hard delete?" If not can we get hard deletion back?

I delete a lot of comments for editing purposes, as there's no actual edit button. Without being able to actually delete comments, whenever I make edits I get the previous versions thrown in my face, errors and all. I can go through quite a few versions before I get my comment to sound the way I want.

It's a small nitpick, and I can certainly live without hard deletion. It would be nice to get it back (in addition to soft deletion, of course) and I just want to see if we can.

In the next version you can turn off showing hidden comments.

Hard delete is still there. It won't be coming back for normal users for tracking reasons. We should definately include a preview button for comments though.

You shouldn't tell people things you can't guarantee tony. You are getting as bad as char with this.

Have you forgotten Halloween already? :P

Also I think Tony's code is already done and just needs to be included in the next update you make.

I like this idea.

Perhaps there's another solution: Another option.

-Soft delete
-Hard delete (User)
-Hard delete (Admin)

The difference between the User and Admin hard deletions would be that the user's hard delete function would still leave a trace for the admins, but nobody else could find it. Just sayin'.
