But when he told me the title meant "Soul Eater" all I came up with in multiple searches is the anime about the soul weapons and soul technicians.

If anyone knows what this movie is or can light the way to more info in order to track it down it would be helpful.

Just use a browser that uses sandboxing, even IE9 has sandboxing (although I wouldn't trust it), Chrome (stable versions) is the most battle-tested browser, as Google places bounties on finding exploits in it.

Essentially the same as using a VM, but without the massive overhead of emulating another system and it's OS.
