How about a gift for the administration for keeping this site together until approved post 200000?

Undeleted post count doesn't matter, since it can and will change. It's mutable, and can happen multiple times.

We already passed post #200000 many moons ago.

Incidentally, it sucks.

not sure what's going on there, but the front page counter doesn't reflect 200,000 posts yet. it's less than 50 posts away, however.

The front page counter doesn't count deleted posts. As such, it's subject to change, and might display 200,000 several times if posts are deleted at just the right time.

If the 200,000th post was reached three months ago and the counter is just now reaching that number again, there must have been a mass deletion of posts at some point between now and then.
Old content, perhaps?

No, it just means that we have ~27000 deleted posts. No big mass deletions, we're approaching 200k undeleted posts for the first time.

No. Post IDs don't move down to fill the gap when posts are deleted. post #200000 was roughly* the 200000th image to be uploaded, but there were thousands of deleted posts long before it got there. IIRC, when post #200000 was uploaded, the front page counter was in the 170-180k range.

*there appear to be some shenanigans with very low post numbers.

Usually, a deleted post leaves a page behind that looks like this:

Posts 1-12, however, just have a message stating that "This post does not exist."

Not only those but several between 13-100

It's possible for admins to permanently and completely delete a post, so that it's like it never happened (except the ids aren't reused).
