I found out today that one of my cats, Bubba, has severe cancer. I can't bring myself to put him down yet, not quite suffering as of yet. The tumor is pretty big, but he is still eating, drinking, and loving attention. I can't afford the $1,000's it will take to possibly save his life. I just lost two cats last year and now He too will pass on before too long. He's such a good cat, and so loving. Depression just keeps compounding. I'm approaching homelessness, so am trying to find my pets good homes before I am without one myself. Lot of good this college degree has done my job search. Fuckitty fuck fuck fuck.

I am so, so sorry to hear of your losses. This kind of pain is never easy to bear. Unfortunately, pain is a part of life. As awful as that is, know that the only reason it's painful is because you care, and that tells us about your character. I hope you come through this stronger. It will be rough for awhile, but in time it will be easier for you, and you'll be left with the memories of the good times.

If I were in your position (I just recently had to give up a cat we'd had almost eight years), I would love him while you have him, and give yourself time to be ready when you finally have to end his pain. Know that what you're doing is best, even if it isn't easy.

So sorry.

we can has bawww I needs money now plox threads? what? call me heartless, but I don't think this is the place for these sorts of threads, or the majority of the threads we've had around here as of late. if you want people to feel sorry for you and throw money your way, do so on furaffinity or something. sorry for my harshness and crappy mood, but we all have our own problems, some of us have it worse than others, but this sort of thing is what starts things similar to LA drama.

He didn't ask for money; someone else suggested that. It doesn't cost you anything to be nice. If you can't say something nice, then just don't say anything.

I didn't ask for any money. Nor would I. Anyway, I decided to check this thread after burying another cat tonight...... my little Sagwa got hit by a car. Rest in peace my little one. I've been on this site for years, and am just sharing my situation with people I consider to be friends or at least well known acquaintances.

On a happy note, my landlord said they would give me a free months rent till I can get on my feet. Plus, my boss is going to let me pick up more hours at work.

I just get so sorrowful when those I love die, be they human or animal. It's like a snowball effect ( not THAT kind of snowballing you sickos). when someone or something passes, I get reminded of all the ones that have gone on before. Overall, I suppose death is just another stage in life.

I understand that (hope many too). I had two dogs, one died because ate something, that we thought, was poisoned (darn neighbors). I remember the face that he made, while weakly moving his tail, it was like "thank you for being with me at this moment, but I have to go", then his tail stopped moving and closed his eyes (we didn't had other dog like him or in some time); and the other by parvovirus, his rear left leg was twitching a lot, when we got to the vet he said us that we had to make him "sleep". I couldn't see that, I went out to the car. My brother said me when I got out, the dog looked for me.
I know these two are sad stories but made me remember the good times my family and I had with them. Sorry if made someone cry, including me.

ive suffered many a loss in my life my friend, and of just about every kind, from pet to sibling and all kinds of personal losses for different reasons so i sympathize with you and i do wish you the best. knowing that things are indeed dull and gloomy for you i pray you find the strength to carry on and keep your eyes wide open and NOT let the depression consume you... because letting sorrow be your eyes means you miss many good things you could have seen otherwise. stay strong wolf.

Thank you for the sentiments and encouraging words Dobies, Luna, and Ivory. If there was anywhere I felt I could connect with people who shared a strong emotional connection to their animals it would be here.

There are some steroids that cost very little most oncology clinics will prescribe that may shrink the growth and help treat it. I called the vet today and they said they would check on it. Here's hoping. I hope you all find comfort in your times of sorrow as well, and I apologize for dredging up old painful memories.

You're welcome. It's nice to share stories, even if they're about sadness or the like, it makes one feel that it's not alone in this crazy places that we call world (or internet, or both).

Swamprootwolf, we're glad to be here to offer whatever support we can. Gosh, what a shame about Sagwa. :/ I hope the medicine helps Bubba.

I know your situation may not allow it, but if you ever reach a point where you can, kitties tend to have MUCH longer life spans if they can be indoor kitties all the time. Some people argue that cats belong outdoors, but from a biology perspective, our little kitties are killing machines and can be really hard on native wildlife, lizards, birds, etc. Between that and their susceptibility to vehicles, poisons, owls, coyotes, hawks, and so on, we've always found it good to keep ours inside. For comparison, the average lifespan of an outdoor kitty is 4-5 years; for an indoor kitty, it's 12-18.

Not to mention that neighbors gets real tired real quick about cats coming and tearing up all of their trash, and start trapping them and sending them off to the pound.

Cars. Cars also hate cats. With their grill.

Once again thank you for the support. I have helped dozens of cats find homes here. The only reason the neighborhood is not overrun with feral cats is the fact that my family and I have done something about the situation. Most of my cats stay inside as long as possible. The only trash here is in the dumpsters. The cats that have passed on, save one, were strays that were fixed and re-released into the area via the No More Homeless Pets programs. I will continue to help animals in any way I can. Thanks.

thanks for that astute observance but I believe it's the tires that are the most hateful.
