I dont know about anyone else, but whenever someone direct links to a picture on FurAffinity, I get a 403 error in return.

Regardless, even if it's just a problem for me,why link to the image up on e621. Link to the artist's FA page on the source- thats what it's meant for.

Yes, the problem is that FA, instead of say returning a link to the post in question if you're visiting a direct URL with a referrer, simply blocks it and throws a 403 error.

Shame :(

I think it would be nice if the bookmarklet had it's own field instead of just using the source one. That would make linking to the original page easier and more tempting.

It'd be ideal if e621'ing an image from FA - either from its post page or from the actual file - could result in a linkback to the artist's page rather than the post page or the actual file. It's better for the artist, and it'd persist for as long as the artist keeps the same name.

You can do some of this by parsing the filename. http://www.e621.net/wiki/show?title=batch_posting_perl_script does this already for some site filename formats, feel free to steal regexes. Guess this could be done server-side here, even.

FA is enormous, and maybe that justifies some special measures perhaps. dA less so, but it's doable there.
