Topic: What is e621?

Posted under General

I'm being serious here. I know there is a sticky about "this is not furry it doesn't belong here", but certainly there should be a minimum requirement on what is and is not acceptable here. The main reason I'm asking is because of a seeming increase of non-anthromorphic content being uploaded.

IMO that's a problem every single furry oriented site has.

Trying to define what is furry or what is not is promising you endless and unconstructive debate. It is widely accepted that all non-animal anthropomorphic characters are furry (demons, robots...), including various mythical creatures (elves, fairies, dryads, satyrs...) and other fictional ones (xenomorph, monsters...).

It is also accepted that a human character with even the smallest animal trait (animal ears, animal tail, chest_tuft) is considered furry.

Given that, you can probably try to flag for deletion stuff that you think not belonging here, and see if the mods agree.

Still, IMO, the best way to show your disapproval of a picture's presence here is to vote it down, not comment it and not tag it. Let it fall into oblivion.

The issue is when there is NO anthromorphic content on the image whatsoever, just humans or nothing. Though frankly, my limits are those with only human and non-mature content (or contentless uploads, one example was a drawing program/flash).

Long story short, nobody cares except for a handful of people who get upset over it. AKA you are one of an extremely small minority.

Two reasons a picture will stay up if it is not furry:
1. It's high quality
2. It's funny

Everybody has stuff they like and stuff they don't like. The site is bound by the common interest of furry pornography, among the visitors of the site. That does not mean that there needs to be an exclusion of stuff which does not fit the common interest.

Some people like gay, some people like straight, some people like lesbian. Some people hate herms, others love them. Just because you dislike something, doesn't mean you have any right to demand it isn't on the site, and try to take away other people's enjoyment.

For the hell of it, I decided to search for "human" and see how many non-furry related pictures I could find within the past month or so. I decided not to bother with Flash videos cause they don't have thumbnails and I was trying to go through as many pictures in a minute or two as possible.

1) A "Rule-of-Cool" picture of a female Ronald McDonald.
2) A "Rule-of-Cool" humor comic about a reverse weeaboos.
3) A "Rule-of-Cool" humor picture of the "Wind Tunnel Curse" from Inuyasha
4) YET ANOTHER "Rule of Cool" picture. http://e621.net/post/show/48693/

Things that hypothetically would not belong if such a rule of "Not-Furry" being banned was implemented.
5) A poorly drawn sketch uploaded 14 days ago.
6) A second poorly drawn sketch uploaded 14 days ago.
7-12) Five related high-quality pictures uploaded at the same time 1 month ago.

...
...
...

That was all pictures tagged human within the past month. A total of 200 pictures, as I was up to page 10. Only 12 were human only, the other 188 (give or take a few flash movies), were human and anthro in the same picture.

In the past month (approximately):
3000 Furry Pictures
200 Human and Anthro Pictures
12 Human only pictures

I can see we are having a horrible out of control plague of non-furry pictures, and e621 is utterly doomed if we do not CRACK THE WHIP AND BAN THIS STUFF NOW. OH MY GOD EVERYTHING WE KNOW AND LOVE WILL BE RUINED!

/sarcasm

EDIT: And I was being generous, as those 5 related pictures were all posted about a week over a month ago. I was being generous for the sake of your argument.

3. It's Dan Aykroyd hip-hopping on Ecto-1

Also, maybe a half of non-furry pictures here are drawn by furry artsist

Please refrain from necroing long-dead forum topics for petty reasons. To post, just wait a week and use the upload function.
