I not sure if a have the definition of a fursona right and was wondering if anyone knew what it is exactly. Ive heard that a fursona is when you come up with a furry version of yourself and that you use it in stories and stuff. However someone who does fursuitting says that my fursona doesnt count because i dont fursuit as him. So what is the bottom line here?

What it is -exactly-? It's a concept that means different things to different people. As far as I'm concerned, this Hat character I came up with fills the role, but I still see it as just a character and not me directly.

Probably but it just one of the those incedents that something unimportant happened and you cant get it out of your head. Like when you hear a song on the radio and you love i but cant remeber who sang it and you try to remeber the name but cant, like that kinda.

Simply put, your fursuiter friend is being an elitist. Whether he's right or wrong (and I think most furries would say he's wrong; considering very few furries have a fursuit), he's still being elitist.

As far as I'm concerned, your fursona is however you view yourself, or like to roleplay yourself as. You don't even have to use it in drawings, stories, or RP.

The only thing I really would question people on, is folks who say they have multiple fursonas. If you play multiple characters, that's cool; I play multiple characters too, but only one of them is my fursona, the rest are just characters. If you view ALL of them as your fursona, way I see it is that NONE of them are your fursona. You simply don't have one.

It's perfectly fine to not have a fursona.

for me the term fusona defines that inner animal self you see when you close your eyes, it is yours and yours alone and no one but you should define what it is and whether you wanna share your fursona threw art, fursuit, rp etc or keep it to yourself.

Me for example both rp with my fursona on Furcadia and have commission artwork of him sharing it on my FA but you may not feel the comfort in doing so and it´s fine.

Ok so my friend was just being a jerk. I thought a fursona was not only the animal you see yourself as but also with your own personal traits thrown in.

like i said inthe other murrsona thread, personas are meh to me, never really saw a point to them.the persona is me more than anything, so i just trashed it and slapped a fox tail on myself and called myself my own fursona. and since i got 5, i can be a different person everyday =D
