the way i see it, mellis can be a bit of a bastard sometimes, but he does have an absolute mindset. what i mean is the people he bans(most of the time) try to sneak around the rules, by using loopholes. mellis sees this and basically says "fuck you. *BAN*". i like that. it keeps trolls from hiding behind the rules.

Following rules is hard. If ya don't want to be "lobsters" banned then don't flag the damn post ya genius. Mellis has never stricken me as a harsh person. Lobsterban rage is also funny as hell. I seriously don't understand this can someone explain it to me? Seriously. I post an image that's part of the e621 2.2 teaser that would normally be the sort of image that gets flagged for deletion. Not everyone checks who the uploader was nor will read the thread. So I make it EXTREMELY CLEAR that anyone who flags the image for deletion will be banned. Three people have been banned for it - two of which made accounts that very day specifically TO get banned for it, and one dude who laughed about it, sent me an email that was all smiley emoticons about it, and in all likelihood made a new account (I haven't bothered to check). Literally nobody who was actually lobsterbanned was upset by it, and all three did it intentionally for shits and giggles, and people are fucking RAGING about it. It would be goddamn hilarious if it wasn't so sad and confusing :(

This site is one of the "cleanest" when it comes to quality members that I've ever been to. Oh sure we get people every now and then, but not nearly like most sites.

to be frank Mellis behaviour as a mod sometimes is not justified how you twist and turn it, sure this isn´t a business like McDonald's, but that´s no excuse to throw adult, professional behaviour out the window like a used rag.

Now I´m not taking a side whether people like Mellis should moderate this site or not, that's the business of the main admin of this place, just feel his/her status as a mod shouldn´t make he/she immune from critic (nor any other Mod).

I´m not saying mods should be in this other extreme, just saying they should try and strike a balance between upholding the rules and decency of the place while upholding some decency of themself

Technically we do. Damn near all the bans are fair. I'd actually say reading through it, virtually all the bans seem to be something fucking retarded like posting sexyfur, not tagging uploads, tag vandalism, fix'd, excessive cursing, excessive leetspeak, ban evasion, etc.

When I phoned the host to get a similar plan of hosting with similar bandwidth storage as e621,net, they told me the real cost was under 100 USD with the dedicated plan.
And that the host error page doesn;' have a custom beging for money error :/

I am happy to make donation for running the website and click on the advert to help, but eating the begging money page every 10 minutes really push me away from e621.net
