Topic: Is verbal erotica wrong?

Posted under Off Topic

I'm not mad or anything; I just wanted to see if I could help start something others might think is fun. Is that so wrong?

We have a number of users (and ex users) who get off on writing *creepy* comments on pictures. Like, graphic descriptions of what they'd like to do to the characters in the picture, or mock arranging for orgies with other commenters.

Some of the creepiest have made statements about wanting to fuck the artist, or making requests for the artist to draw images for them--including really graphic descriptions that might have nothing to do with the image that they were commenting on.

So, basically, what I'm/we're saying is... we have really bad experiences with people who want to type things like the other, now locked post, and as a result, those sort of people tend to get warned and banned if they persist... rather then disturb anyone else.

There's nothing wrong with verbal erotica, but.. this may not be the best place to start conversations about it... especially when the erotica was phrased in the form of a "please someone draw this for me"... D:

There are role playing forums out there.

This isn't one of them.

You're welcome to link to e621 while you're on those other forums and verbalize your erotica all over the place. As long as it's there and not here.

How about fanfics then? Since that's what I had thought of upon seeing this thread, not comments. I'm fond of a few fanfics, but haven't read much though.

The site is almost completely image-based. Purely text media would not be approved.

Look, not to be rude but this isn't a "social" site like FurAffinity. Its primary use is as a repository of (mostly) furry images. You get in, take what you need, then get out. If it doesn't have to do with pictures of variously anthropomorphized animals then you're on the wrong site.

I'm not going to bother tracking down the link, but the site is NOT just for furry images. It's for all kinds, just ends up being mostly furry. Please stop with that fallacy that just because most users upload furry images that's all that's meant to be here.

That said, purely text-based files would fail to be uploaded, almost assuredly. This is an image repository, Klo did get that correct.

It has always been furry-oriented. It just isn't necessarily furry porn related. Related post:

This site is not and never was explicitly 'geared towards porn' - saying that it is, is your personal opinion and bias, and it is objectively wrong.

I can say it is objectively wrong, because I have been here before the site existed and had a hand in its inception, and at no point was the plan EVER for it to be a 'primarily porn site', it was always to be a general artist/resource locator and image dump/directory for ALL furry/funny images. Furthermore, if it was geared towards porn, we'd be actively removing non-pornographic images, as they would run contrary to the intent of the site, were it supposed to be a porn site. If we wanted to make it primarily porn, what purpose would allowing floods of non-pornographic material serve except to dilute the searches and return hundreds of potential results we wouldn't want?
