Topic: I can't edit images! Help!

Posted under General

greetings all, I've been here for a while, and as such, I've assisted with adding tags here and there, as well as digging up sources, however, as of late, I can't edit any images at all.

I click on the edit tab next to the image and all it does is refresh the image I'm currently looking at.

In fact, all the buttons under the Options section do that very thing.

All the other links on the sidebar work just fine, but not the ones under options.

Any help?

Updated

Works fine for me. I'm using Firefox on Windows 7.

hit Ctrl+F5 and if that doesn't work tell me what browser you use and if javascript is enabled.

Well the thing is, I used to be able to edit them before perfectly fine.

I use MSN as my viewer.

I tested everything on the side again, and it's JUST the stuff located under the options. All of them have the set address of the image I'm currently looking at, thus, doing nothing but refreshing the page I'm currently on.

I was able to do this fine until e621's recent downtime...

Ah, irregular browser javascript problem.
Use IE/Firefox/Opera instead.

A new update...

Apparently, I can mess with everything in the options EXCEPT the Edit button.

Or rather, all the edit button does is refresh the page and bring me to the top of said page.

How is this a new development when I could do it before using this browser?

Edit: New update.

It appears that when I click edit, it brings me to the edit page for a SPLIT SECOND before it then brings me back to the image as if I had just sucessfully edited the tags.

Could you at least try my suggestion before continuing to whine?

Okay, yes I did, and with firefox, it opened up, but the site was laggy as heck.

I tried again right after with MSN, same thing, opens up the tag window for a split second, then acts like I clicked okay or something and immidiatly closes it.

I guess if I REALLY wanted to, I could just open up Firefox if I need to edit a tag or something, it's just a pain in the but considering everything else works and all my bookmarks and contacts are reached through my MSN browser.

Ah well, Not gonna make ya try to reformat the site because one person is having issues.

Thanks for the help.

I'm having the same issue. I use IE and Firefox. Neither one is working for me. On Firefox, I have the ability to edit the tags. Once I do, however, the tag or tags I just added don't appear onscreen. And, yes, Javascript is enabled.

If you don't have in the pic, then....not sure.

Anyhow, I have the latest Firefox. I also have Javascript.

Perhaps it is your Adblock? I have mine on, but it doesn't interfere, maybe you botched it.

I saw a "List of Ghost in the Shell..." tab. Come on! Don't leave us hanging! What was it?

Yeah, I get this page FOR A SPLIT SECOND on MSN before it flips and brings me back to the image like I said okay or cancel or something.

Something in your settings is botching the site, I tested fine on all possible configurations. I would recommend a COMPLETE wipe of your configuration and start fresh.

(MSN explorer is just a shell of internet explorer, so I am testing with just that.)

I haven't edited the site in at least a week, the downtime wasn't even involved with e621.. it was the router our host is on.

If this doesn't work please tell me what versions of MSN explorer and windows you are on. We do not support ie6 or below clones.

Okay, I just tested with Internet explorer and it worked, but again, it doesn't work with msn.

Lets see... my version of MSN is...

MSN premium.

As I said, IT WORKED BEFORE, but only within... maybe the last week, I have not been able to edit the tags due to said hiccup.

Is there a minor setup change that must be altered so it won't so such a thing?

I'm not able to install your specific browser, also what version NUMBER is it?. did your browser update? did you install anything or change anything? have you reinstalled it? Cleared out all the settings? Removed all addons? There is so many things that can cause a site to not work, ad blockers (which will get you demerited), javascript/flash blockers. Special settings, bad ajax settings, bad firewall settings, bad extensions.. and hell just bad javascript.

I'm willing to help but I need details.

All right, I'll see what I can find...

But first off, no, no ad blockers, no flash blockers, no update, not been reinstalled.

It hasn't been tampered with at all. As I said, it was random over the last week and ONLY happened after e621 had the latest update. no, it shouldn't have caused any problems.

Let me see the number version I have... Shit, I can't seem to find the numbers. I'll identify them the next time I log in as it's on a window I can only view before I sign in.
