Topic: Bizarre Weather

Posted under Off Topic

I'm in Western Australia right now, and it is so, so cold, the weather report says it's 10 degrees centigrade or so, but where I am it seems to be much colder (which would make sense, the nearest weather station is a while away).

I actually keep seeing my breath indoors! to make it worse, my house is open plan, the windows are single-pane and they don't seal efficiently, it gets better too, turns out there is literally no heating whatsoever.

Anybody else going through any bizarre / crappy weather?

Updated by IceyzHeart

WA? Me too man! Peel district, south of Perth. Major storms were around the past few weeks (one knocked the power out for 45 hours) and now it's cold as all fuck. Can't see my breath indoors, even though it would be cool to do so.

Updated by anonymous

It sound cool until you realise that means it's really fucking freezing, did you hear about the mini-tornado thing?

My Dad works literally the next suburb over, he was only about a hundred kilometers away, he could have got caught up in it if he was doing appointments that day.

Updated by anonymous

It was a low-pressure system, not a tornado. And my dad's back fence got pushed over.
Also, my friends' trampoline got flipped into their neighbours' yard.
Where do you live, btw?

Updated by anonymous

Riversyde is in Perth, huh.

Heh 10 degrees doesn't sound bad until I remember that is indoors =/

Wear a hoodie :o

Nothing peculiar where I live. Just hot summer weather. Ought to go to the shore soon.

>Well, I'm on the exact global opposite of down under, but over here, the weather plays crazy, too... at first it was WAY too hot for the time of the year, and now we keep getting almost monsoon-like showers....

Well, I wouldn't want my house to be kept at 10C, but I love it when it's like that outside.

I'd make a joke about "nice and toasty warm", but really that's more like 20C, the temperature at which I keep my house.

Has the housing out there picked up or is it still garbage? I lived out in Litchfield Park for a bit and left a bit before the housing bust, haven't heard if it's worth buying/living out there again.

Yick! That heat is brutal. My mate and I won't even cross the Bradshaws in that direction until at least November. I don't know how you guys do it down there!

I think... I think I would literally die if I ever tried to live there.

I'm actually not kidding (I'm not the healthiest individual, sadly). I can't stand anything above 40. To try to survive in that on a perpetual basis... that scares me.

No, the housing market still sucks, even for vets.

Hah, yeah, before I moved I lived in the North East of England and I would rarely even put on a jacket until it dropped below 12 and there was a very strong wind.

Updated by anonymous

England has always been known for bad weather, but I think it's been getting worse. Like, MUCH worse. People say to me "Elad, people say it's worse every year! your memory's just busted!"

It is currently the height of summer. Not once all month has the temperature been much above 60F (16C). It has been raining for 5 days straight. Last may? I read an article in the newspaper that said it's been the wettest, coldest may in over 300 years.

I honestly think we've just reached the point of no return. We've fucked up the weather forever and it's just something we'll have to get used to :V

I would fucking kill to live there. Holy shit that sound so absolutely delightful. Beats the living hell out of this arid, dry hellhole that is northern California.

Shitty weather aside, I couldn't live anywhere else! I'll give you a tour next time you're around London. :3

For some reason I thought Brits hated Americans. Or was that just the rest of the world?

traditionally, yes. but as the world gets ever more connected and trans-atlantic flights get cheaper (and after i've had two american boyfriends) this kind of attitude is on the decline.

PS. your country is still nuts lolololol. :3

Updated by anonymous

American Politics are damned crazy, I've never seen such brainwashing and polarization over anything.

In Britain, some of the things that american politicians say everyday or so, would cause enormous scandals at the least.

Would it be weird if the weather has been relatively moderate where I live? This past winter the temperature averaged a little above 45 F/7 C when it usually goes down to nearly freezing. For the summer, the temperature has been lingering at about 80 F/26 C where the normal is around 90 F/32 C.

So, talking about the weather, huh? It's about time we hit the pinnacle of small talk.

Hey this level of banality is the only thing close to happiness I get after getting home from my day job; tell me, have you ever lived the life full of pure, orgasmic torment, of being a sexbot tester?
No? Well, just thank God you've never been inside an actual uncanny valley

You'd be glad to just let out all the pent-up fuckrage with some pointless conversation.

You're right...
I'm from northern California. :p
However, I have been here for the past eighteen years of my life.

I actually do like it a lot, though.. Especially if it rains or something.

Well I cant argue about that but when it rain it does feel good.

It's humid as fuck over here. I've had the ac on al day and it isn't helping. I wish I had a dehumidifier.

We've been having hot weather here in Missouri too (up in the hundreds). It really needs a good rain too, all the grass is dead. It's humid as hell right now though, so I'm hopeful it rains to relieve the stickiness.

Worst part is when you need to go to some place, in the car. Especially if left at the sun

You mean guns actually help when the weather goes bad? I always wondered why people were so crazy for them. I'll have to go buy a rifle next time the temperature hits 110.

Get an automatic. All of the smoke from the gunpowder would have provided some nice shade, but the filthy thunderstorm that knocked power out here from 11:00PM Friday to 4:30AM today was some good shade.
