It's really annoying. For example, I tried aliasing "ass_up" to "raised_butt" so it goes together with the "raised_tail" and "butt" tags, but the now unused "top_down_bottom_up" prevents the aliasing from occuring. Argh!

(It might have been me who created ass_up waybackwhen, and I like the tag as it is :) You can overthink this stuff for making patterns: but then again there's an ass_down in there now too, so colour me hypocritical.
Aliases and implications -are- overused in this place. This can make it less fun.
Ideal solution would be to let We The Users vote up/down tag aliases and implications. Single rescindable, reversible vote for preference.

Or modify the alias/implication system to accept deletion suggestions in the same manner it accepts new rules and have them show in red.
