Personal activation is no longer required due to the changes in permissions and with the new requirements to create an account. You must provide a valid email address, however.

New accounts will have less permissions, so if you plan on doing a lot of uploading, drop by the IRC channel on furnet.org (#e621) to request an account upgrade.

Bullet Points:

• No, we won't be charging for upgraded accounts.
• If you previously registered an account that was not approved, the account will not be in the system. You can register now with no problems.
• The current level of permissions for a new user account are going to be tweaked over the next few weeks. We will update the help (http://e621.net/help/users) for users with the limits when we've reached the equilibrium we need.
• Users with old accounts should put in their email addresses to their profile in case of needed password recovery.
