Topic: Angels, Orcs, Trolls, and Demons?

Posted under General

Okay, so in the past we've gotten plenty of things such as alien species like Twi'leks, fantasy species like Orcs and Troll, as well as religious-based things such as Angels and Demons. But now with https://e621.net/forum/show/146158 I'm more confused than ever! Are things such as angels, twi'leks, and orcs humanoid? Do they count as "furry" as such? I've read a post in that forum that says they don't count any longer and will get deleted, then around the last page I see a lot of hubbub about an elven post that was allowed. And EDF goes on, later, to say that it was allowed due to grandfathering in, but, at the same time, he doesn't say that it wouldn't be allowed normally. He just goes on to make a generalization about posts getting such a treatment despite current rules.

I mean.. do fantasy species such as night elves from WoW or sci-fi species such as the aforementioned twi'leks get accepted? Or do they need tacked on bunny ears now? While clarification has been made for humans.. where DO things like orcs with those poking-out teeth and elves with pointy ears fall in? Where do demons, angels, fairies, etc. fall in? Do they get accepted just because they have feathery, batty, or buggy wings?

I know I mentioned twi'leks a great deal, I know I probably spelled their species wrong.. ahh well! The point is still made and I was just using them as an example. Where one grey area closes another apparently flies wide open.

Also, how do things like monsters.. you know.. vampires, people with pumpkins for heads, frankenstein type things work out? I suppose that sorta falls in the same general vein as the aforementioned, yet still.. it's good to clarify.

if its appears relatively human but is not actually a human, then its humanoid. anyways i am pretty sure that humanoids are allowed but human only content is not allowed.

but human only content is not allowed.

There's gotta be an exception to this rule which I'm sure is based on the quality of the artwork. I know I've seen a bunch of human-only stuff on here.

@Mutisija, I get that. But the very top of the linked post has EDF stating

Hello everyone!

I wanted to clarify something that apparently has been generating some questions for our janitors.

Anything that is not furry, feral, or anthro as a focus of the post will likely be deleted off the site as irrelevant.

That includes things such as "humanoid." That's why I'm ultimately so confused, especially with the talking on the last of that same forum. Really, it ultimately boils down to is "humanoid" stuff still actually still allowed to be posted or do you HAVE to have some sort of animal part such as animal junk, animal ears, etc for it to not be deleted? So far no one has been really clear on that as opinions seem to change or, at least, muddy what was originally said in the quote above.

Humanoids are still allowed, even if no animals are present.

Only old stuff is kept, however we do grandfather better versions in, means if you find a better version of an image we already host (even if it is against the new rules) we'll still approve the better version.

Thanks for the confirmation. I, and no doubt many others, appreciate it. :)
