i'm wondering why this is allowed? seeing as i have posted a few images that were appearently "unrelated to site", so im wondering how this could possibly be related to e6? it's not even a furry-type picture.

its not even about the joke itself it is making, just the fact that this is approved when there are much more related things that have been deleted.

That was from 4 years ago. Generally, stuff that was uploaded before a policy was put in place is allowed to remain.

It was approved four and a half years ago. The site was a very different place four and a half years ago. And we allow the older already-approved images to stay, because it's frankly unfair to our users to go deleting old images they might have faved or uploaded back when the rules were more tolerant of it being posted here.

However, current uploads need to follow current uploading rules. So that means: that if that image was uploaded today, it would undoubtedly be deleted as 'Irrelevant to Site' because it doesn't fit our current rules for an image to be approved today.

Small exception to this. If you are uploading a better quality version of a post that was already approved here, it is still okay to post. Just be sure to make it obvious that you are uploading a better version so that it doesn't accidentally get deleted (preferably by flagging the older version as inferior).

Very good point to make. 100% this. And if people know how to parent/child them, that always makes things easier too.

Some of the older images shouldn't be deleted in general. They're too awesome.
