Topic: Gotta get this off my chest

Posted under Off Topic

Hey y'all. I just need to get this off my chest.
This world trying to force me to adopt things and feelings against my will, when all I want is to live peacefully, without all that stuff on top of me. But I can't escape. No one can. The saddening yet somewhat comforting thing is that, well, one day I'll die. It might be in 70 years, I don't know. What I do know is this:
I'm a young man, but I'm different. Ain't nothing wrong with that. But I'm in a world where I'm forced to either become part of the group-think, or be looked upon with hate years from now; like a museum exhibit. They'll look upon my death as something to celebrate or otherwise feel relief from. Like I'm less a man somehow. Of course I won't change. Don't ask me to.
I know y'all are going to probably respond with the usual thing. "Oh you're an asshole TruckNutz." Or "Great. Another one." Well, maybe I am. Whatsittoya? Not much you can do to hurt me so don't worry and just fuckin' say it. I prefer honest people as opposed to liars and sugarcoaters.
I needed to say this, and here was the only place I have which I could really do so. I'm sorry to have wasted your time.

Exactly. It's more painful when you know you've lost and all you can do is accept shame and dishonor.

Your text forgot to mention what sets you apart from others so I have no idea how to judge you.

Past that, don't let others define you and let them have their gossip. It'll all be meaningless in a hundred years from now, so let them have their fun while their mortality lasts them.

What sets me apart is to do with my feelings and also a little bit my choice to show my cultural pride. It is not worth bringing up here.

What's being forced upon you exactly?

A certain opinion on a certain hot button topic right now. An opinion I don't agree with. I don't want to say what because it's SO sensitive it WILL cause a debate. Mind you this is simply just the straw that broke the camel's back in a long list of reasons I feel this way.

Gay marriage? Transgender people? Tumblr feminazis? Porn with spanking being banned in the UK? Texas threatening to recede from the US and/or cause another civil war? Global poverty? Veganazis? Regular nazis? I CAN'T STAND NOT KNOWING!!

I guess we'll never know. =0

Friend, life sucks.
And if others are going to push an opinion to you, make them logic answers, and let them know why you don't want to change your idea.
And if they continued to bug you, quit them or don't listen to their shitty opinions.
And if a rule is bugging your mind, let it be. It won't affect you. For example the rule "age of consent" used to bug my mind very bad, and I tried to accept that some people can have U18 sex, and it bugs my mind less than before.

WAR IN MIDDLE EAST??? EARTHQUAKES IN JAPAN??? FLOODS IN IRAN??? WATER SHORTAGE IN SAUDI ARABIA??? SUICIDE IN GREENLAND???
No. I think he means something not rule-o-matic.

Anyway, @TruckNuts friend. I always had opposed to what community said, and now they wished me death, I wish them death too. Life in not fun, unless you being furry - And we are no furries unless in our imaginary lives.

So accept the situation, and tell your anxiety to a friend and if you have no one, I will listen to your problems even for hours. Just ask me if you want friend. I will listen to you. I've always listened to people's problems. So don't be shy.

I already told you going to a funeral in a fursuit wasn't a good idea.

That is one of the big reasons. Mind you this is just simply the straw that broke the camel's back with me. I'm just fed up with the world telling me what to think and like. I would love to just be let be instead of everyone protesting everyone else. It's like "oh here we go again"

Then learn to don't care what others say, at least that's what I've been doing since 15.

This about the Confederate flag being banned?

If so, then so what? It's just a flag. If you're not allowed to fly it, then have it on a wall inside or something.

Remember, the war between Israel and Palestine is only for "a flag" and a "country name".

IT IS not lame. It is not joke.

A flag is a lot more than a piece of cloth. If they weren't, the Swastika would have no negative connotations.

Anyway, Americans get pretty upset when you tell them things like that.

But that doesn't matter anyway, because the Confederate flag is not going to be banned in public.

If you're going to post, expect there to be discussion and debate. If you don't want part of that, just post to vent and get the hell out of dodge.

I'm not sure what's going on, and the fact that everybody's beating around the bush is just confusing me even further, but it may be worth sending a PM to start up a conversation with somebody who you feel you can talk with (Probably not me, since I'm busy most of the day)

no, the swastika has negative connotations due to the nazi's. see here for more info. of course theres probably other reasons than the just nazi's but that's the first connection that comes to mind.

as for me, i could care less about some flag or something. imo it really is just a piece of fabric give special treatment to.

You didn't try to hide that very well then
But ignoring is the thing to do. Society tells you how to think, how to be, why would you listen to all of that?
And if people wouldn't mind you being dead, don't forget that it's normal. Everyone has enemies, so do I, so do you. But especially on the internet, just ignore.
Ignore and live your way, I guess
Just don't forget that gay people have been through that as much as you did (and don't even get me started on WWII)

Just buy a Confederate rainbow flag

I'm sure nobody could hate you for flying it!

I'm trying to figure out what you guys are talking about, but I can't find anything about a swastika on a flag.

Interesting fact: There is nothing negative about the swastika. It simply means good things like Fortune and stuff. It's the inverted swastika that was used for negative purposes.

That's what I meant by "Connotations." The swastika may symbolize inoffensive things, but since Nazi Germany used it on their flag, it's a symbol for genocide and oppression to most people. Even if the Nazi version was inverted, most people don't notice the difference.

exactly and...i wonder if anyone would mind if i posted a screenshot of the Hellsing ova (theres already a screenshot of schrodinger here pretty sure that's the scene where he cuts off his own head) with the captain standing in front of the nazi flag with gold and money and stuff raining down around him. only one problem with it is the captain is in his human form, not werewolf form in that scene so i'm not sure if that's ok here or not.

I disagree. I think life sucks, then you get cancer. Then you go into chemotherapy. You lose all your hair, you feel bad about yourself. Then all of the sudden the cancer goes into remission. You look good, you feel good, you're going great, and all of a sudden you have a stroke. You can't move your right side. And one day you step off the curb at 68th by Lincoln Center and bang, you get hit by a bus. And then, maybe, you die.

Oregon issued a gag order on top of the fine for the Christian bakers who refuse to cater the gay couple. No matter what your stance is on this subject, this a clear breach of 1st amendment rights.

So I guess I'll be a grumpy and upset too

"Gag order?" Sounds like something lynchy to me D:

Alright, Imma be frank with y'all about this confederate flag debate stuff. Don't mistake me for one of the stereotypical "durr south gon rise again" types. Though I will say the south will rise again. And I'm very proud of my southern heritage. My opinion on the rebel flag is and has been as follows:
Its a piece of America. A piece of our history and heritage. And for better or worse, it became through various reasons the semi official flag of the south. It has both good and bad traits behind it. To deny the bad would be a fool's game. To ignore the good is just as foolish.
The good:
*it gives a symbol, regardless of its history, for the south to feel a sense of independence for specifically the southern states. Many are fed up with the feds.
*Preserves a visual link to southern history and all of southern heritage, not just the war (thanks to it becoming the semi official symbol)
*Despite having not the best of origins, it does in part represent state sovereignty over federal control.

The bad:
*Well no shit slavery was a factor in confederate history. I being of confederate descent don't deny that. It's one factor in several that culminated in a massive, ugly war that really needn't have happened.
*It's been co opted by hate groups, sadly.

No they didn't. [1] [2]

Short Version

They're still perfectly allowed to talk about the ruling, the case, their beliefs on the matter. They're still allowed to rally, protest, and if they want, even fight to have sexual orientation removed from Oregon's list of "things you're not allowed to discriminate against." They're still perfectly allowed to donate money and show support to whatever anti-LGBT groups they want, put up posters in the bakery, whatever. Their 1st amendment right isn't being suppressed.

However, their bakery is a public accommodation so they have to... accommodate the public. Oregon has a law that says a business may not “publish, circulate, issue or display” any “communication, notice, advertisement or sign of any kind” that says that they will turn someone away because they fall into a protected class. In other words, it's illegal to put up "No Blacks Allowed" or "No Interracial Couples" or "No Cripples" signs, or otherwise publicly state that your business will not serve these people.

At one point, the bakers were interviewed on the Christian Broadcast Network, restating that their bakery would not do same-sex marriages or "same-sex wedding cakes" (do they come in different flavors than straight wedding cakes or something?). The judge, instead of fining them further, simply told them to stop breaking that law. There was no actual gag order issued.
