Topic: Incorrect help section for voting

Posted under General

It appears that the help section under Help: Voting is incorrect.

It states that it was not possible to change your vote while in fact, you can. I assume it is just outdated and from a time before it was possible to revoke votes.

probably referring to the comment votes. which you cant change still. only the image votes are changeable (which I wish they'd fix that, its murder on a touch screen cuz you accidently hit down when you meant up. or up when you meant down D:)

Nice catch. Most of those pages are still generic danbooru pages and haven't been changed much from when we forked the code several years ago (I know the tagging cheatsheet is one exception). There's also a lot of wiki pages in e621: help: and howto: that have built up over the years which were intended to replace the hardcoded e621.net/help pages (yes, as much as 3-4 separately written pages on the same topic) that we still need to condense. It only just now occurred to me that I finally have the ability to submit changes to the help pages. :V

Esme is also correct that you can't change comment votes. Unfortunately the database only records whether you voted on it, but not actually how you voted. There are plans to fix this up but it's more of a long-term thing, so I can't really give you a timeframe on it.

It is specifically about posts and does not mention comments.

I didn't know. This should be mentioned on the help page as well.
