Topic: SO hot...

Posted under Off Topic

before, there was rain...endless rain. now, it's nothing but pure heat.

weather channel says 99 here but it feels a lot hotter. the grass and weeds are all drying out and dying (our yard literally sounds and feels, under your feet, like its crunchy).

heck, me and my uncle went to haul off trash earlier and soon as i got in the truck it felt like my face was next to a campfire. the air alone is that hot.

couldn't have been gone more than 10-15 minutes but soon as i walked through the door i was soaked in sweat.

wth? i...i don't want to go outside at all if i can help it during this kind of heat.

You should move to Alaska. Sunlight 24/7 and it's nice and cool.

Darkness 24/7 and bitter, ceaseless cold.

It builds character.

That ain't nothing! We've got around 130°F (40°C) in my hometown :D

Sure, it was quite exhausting and maybe a teeny bit suffocating and I practically had a fan with me most of the time, but I'm still alive

its only about 20-25C here but my poor finnish body is not made to withstand anything above 20C plus we dont have any kind of air conditioners :'/

Well, I guess I cant complain about the heat, as the situation did not went to using a fan all the time (yet).

Naw, that was because the house was hot as fuck (WiFi barely reached outside). Having wind and/or shadow is a blessing there :P

and this would partly depend on how much you like/dislike such conditions i guess.

oh well, i know it usually starts to cool down around 10PM here (usually though sometimes the heat persists a bit longer).

In Hungary, weather report says that this 38-40 °C heat that we have now will probably last 'till Monday. Though they have a tendency to announce events to happen a day earlier than they'll actually happen.

It's been up to 35C here fairly often (always above 30C in the day). Sometimes it drops down to 20C at night. Those are the good nights (usually it's 22-23C at the coldest part of the night). I don't have an air conditioner either. Not even an evaporative cooler. Please send your weather over here.

I want May back. All that rain <3

Up to 11°C right now at midday, though it was a lot colder a few days ago when it snowed everywhere except right where I live.

I should make one of these threads when the temperature hits high 30s in a few months and everything is on fire

I'm a carwash attendant so we're open air which is nice on a windy day when it's hot out. It becomes a problem however when you get into the lower 80s with 70, 80, 90 percent humidity... Sure it isn't that much of a workout, but in that kind of weather, it's simply oppressive...

Shit, even Alaska has regions showing 'moderate drought' conditions.

http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/Home/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?AK

Enough to raise concerns about future salmon stocks / spawning conditions (water levels low, and water temperatures high, killing off fish before they can spawn).

Colorado is a awful 90 °F most days.
I am excited for fall and winter, I like the cold more.
