Door slams open, shocking Flurry Heart and the castle Vet as Skyla burst into the room.

"Oinky?!" She cried, galloping into the room only to slide to a stop.

"Skyla?" Flurry said, just before following her sisters gaze. Somepony had opened the curtains, filling the room with sunlight. Skyla stared at the line separating the shadows from the light, her face drawn tight. Flurry opened her mouth, about to move to close the curtains when the pig on the table let out a whine.

"Move!" Skyla rushed past Flurry, shoving her to the ground. The young princess hit the ground hard, letting out her own whine of pain. The only one to notice this was the vet who rushed over to help the filly to her hooves.

"P-princess, are you-"

"I'm fine." She assured, shaking her foreleg to test it out. As expected, it hurt a little but Flurry was tough. Skyla was very strong and tended to get violent sometimes but Flurry healed fast so she wasn't worried. She looked toward Skyla as she loomed over her pet pig. She braved the sun, cicrling the table Sir-oinks-a-lot lay upon. Concern warred with pain but concern won out.

"What happened to him?" She demanded, glaring at the vet who returned it with one of her own. She was mad for Flurry.

"Princess Skyla, I think you owe her highness an apology." She snapped, probably expecting compliance. After all, she was an adult pony talking to a young filly, princess or no. She must not have ever met Skyla. The older filly snorted in response.

"And I think you owe me an explanation." She retorted. "I don't give a shit if you want to pity ms perfection or not but before you do, tell me why my friend is here. Now!" She literally snapped her teeth at the mare, watching the older mare jump away at the action. Flurry was used to it. Skyla snapped her teeth in the same way a wild animal did. Sometimes it scared Flurry though, since her teeth sometimes looked sharper than other times.

"Sir-oinks-a-lot apparently got an infection and collapsed in the middle of his midday lunch." Flurry explained, stepping around the vet. Skyla's cold eyes landed on her, demanding answers. "As such, he was brought here." Skyla looked down at her pet, the ice leaving her eyes as concern returned.

"How did he get sick? I though mom said the food here would be good for him." She mumbled, somewhat accusingly but it was hard to tell who was being accused. Flurry took a deep breath and continued.

"Doctor Cross stitch here says that she found some bite marks all over him." She said, watching Skyla carefully. As she thought, her words caused her sister to flinch though she didn't stop petting her pet. "Apparently, the wounds had gone untreated for too long and eventually got infected."

"...I see." She growled, running a hoof over the bandage going over the pigs abdomen. When Flurry had first heard that Oink had fallen ill, she rushed over. She was both shocked and disgusted by the amount of bite marks on the small creatures body. Very few of the wounds were deep but all of them broke the skin. Flurry gathered up her courage and voiced her concern.

"S-Skyla?" She said, gaining her sisters attention once more. "Did you... Do you know what did this to your pet?"

The two sisters stared at one another for a long time, unspoken words that the other would never hear filling the air. After the long silence, Skyla leaned down to nuzzle her pet.

"I suppose there are some wild animals running about that attacked Oinky." She stated, though her words held non of the malice one would assume would be in her tone. "Perhaps it's something you should bring up to the guards one of these day, princess." Flurry clenched her teeth. While she loved her sister, she knew she was hiding something from her.

"I can't do that if the 'wild animal' might be within our walls!" She snapped, immediately regretting her words. Skyla didn't react, just choosing to stare down at her pig in silence. Flurry reached out a hoof, about to apologize when Skyla spoke again.

"Perhaps so but I assure you that Oinky won't be getting hurt again after this." She muttered, so low Flurry could barely hear her. "The wild animal will just have to find something else to munch on, I suppose."

Whoo, done! This one was a quickie, hence the lack of shading and shit.

This takes place weeks after Skyla was taken in by Crystal Empress Cadence and her consort, Lord Shining Armor. Flurry is still trying to rebuild the bridge that had formed when she and her sister met but Skyla isn't having it. The only one she is nice to is her pet pig, Sir-oinks-a-lot. Said pig wandered into the Crystal Empire from the frozen wastes and was welcomed by Skyla.

Oinky was Skyla's constant companion, tending to sleep with her as a means to help her with her nightmares. Flurry is very suspicious of Skyla. She still loves her but gets concerned when she sees how often she finds Skyla bleeding and hurt from wounds very similar to her pets. Skyla tells their parents that she's just clumsy but Flurry can see the bite marks.
