And Hinze came to Malpertaus,
the fox looked out the window.
The (male) cat bends modest and mannerly:
"For the second time through messenger's mouth
you shall know of the king's will.
He orders you to attend court,
go, Reineke! And do not delay!
If you dare to not face justice,
so shall your lineage gravely pay!"
Then Reineke called: "Hail and fortune,
my nephew, you shall receive!
Though see, the night falls upon already,
you must be my guest for today.
We will leave at the earliest morning;
I will follow you happily, do not worry.
Because if there is one I can trust,
it would be you, my dear Hinzelmann!"
