Have you heard? If you cry into a pool of water on the full moon, a hand will reach through your reflection and offer you a scale. If you take it, you’ll have 24 hrs to find your true love before you vanish from this world.
A mermaid’s tears is worth their weight in gold. She tries to make her boundary as inviting as possible for potential visitors, but alas, people don’t believe in mermaids as much as they used to. Unless directly summoned, she can’t remain on the near shore. Her loyal subjects try their best to cheer up their princess.
I had a lot of fun designing this blend of fish monster and little mermaid. This was before I saw a canon design of mermaid!Nene in the manga, but I wanted something a little unsettling for her design.
I have a strong feeling Nene’s intended fate had something to do with the mermaid or becoming a supernatural. Which, let’s be honest, if Nene dies, Tsukasa is going to use her to fuck shit up
