"Come on, Rebecca. You can do this." Officer Rebecca Chambers tried to comfort herself amidst the trepidation of the storage room's creaking floor boards. Shakey hands unscrewed the nozzle of the First Aid can and carefully set it aside. A small reservoir of anti-bacterial solution gleamed under the storage room's dangling light. With her other hand, Rebecca poured her own makeshift solution into the can. It spewed forth a gaseous vapor into Rebecca's face as the original chemicals made contact with the new. She drew a sharp breath against the impulse to cough and drop the can; its fumes lent Rebecca a glimpse of something that was surprisingly flowery and sweet. It was an intoxicating smell that contradicted almost everything about the hellish mansion she was stuck in. That alone was enough to relax her even before fastening the nozzle and storing it in her medical kit. An empowered Rebecca smiled and walked through the door. Maybe she would get out of this mansion alive.
