Quite a few folks in the village had stories about encountering a white Sawsbuck in the nearby forest. One big game hunter even claimed to have shot him, but he escaped. Canna spent almost the whole day wandering through the forest, encountering little more than overly persistent bug Pokémon. It was getting to be quite obnoxious, sometimes, how the pheromones attracted Pokémon so indiscriminately! With the sun beginning to dip below the horizon, Canna reluctantly decided to call off her search. She was soaked with sweat, exhausted, and hadn't caught a single decent Pokémon all day. I might feel better if I take a little dip in the stream, she thought. Just then, she spotted him at the water's edge: a magnificent specimen, and—even at a distance—clearly a male. Canna snuck closer as quietly as she could, but just as she was almost in range to throw a Quick Ball, the Sawsbuck suddenly raised his head, sniffed the air, and turned to face her. He did not flee, but stood his ground, and waited for her to make the first move. She hoped it would be the right one.
