A generally upright standing pose where one foot is slightly elevated above the other, typically with the foot resting on something or while climbing or stepping up onto something.

A well-known specific variant of this pose is known as the Captain Morgan pose, after the brand of rum whose mascot is known to do this.

This pose may apply to characters being stepped on, but not if the post qualifies as a stomping theme, and probably not for sex based postures. This tag should be used only if the posture stays within the guidelines for the pose itself. Use the thumbnails as a reference.

Not to be confused with

• step_position - A sex position involving a partner being stepped on.
• stomping - An activity involving firmly stamping one's foot into the ground. Do not tag this as step pose, but raised_foot, or stepped_on instead.
• strutting - A showy kind of walking posture commonly featuring aligned feet.

Stepping postures

• walking / jogging / running - Step pose shouldn't suggest movement

• raised_heel - The opposite of on_heel and on_heels

• raised_foot - This tag applies when a stepping, step pose, or related posture has the raised foot not making contact with the ground. This tag should be used instead of raised leg in many cases.
