plasma rifle

The Type-25 Directed Energy Rifle, more commonly known as the Plasma Rifle, is a infantry weapon wielded by the Covenant in the Halo franchise. It is a purple handheld firearm that can automatically or semi-automatically fire superheated plasma. It it most effective at close or medium range, but can overheat if fired continuously for too long.

The Jiralhanae (brutes) carry a red-colored variant of this weapon.
