Taxonomy
The cetaceans (whales, dolphins, etc.) and technically ungulates, but members of the Cetacea are best kept separate from the rest of the group, because aquatic artiodactyls do not form hooves. The related hippopotamids are also considered ungulates, and are considered unguligrade despite having no actual hooves.
