Home Improvement is an American television sitcom starring Tim Allen that aired on ABC from September 17, 1991 to May 25, 1999. Allen starred as Tim Taylor, the patriarch of a dysfunctional family living in suburban Detroit consisting of himself, his wife Jill (Patricia Richardson) and their three sons: the oldest son, Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan), the middle son, Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) and youngest son, Mark (Taran Noah Smith). The Taylors often talk to their backyard neighbor, Wilson W. Wilson Jr. (Earl Hindman), whose lower face is never fully seen by the audience, about their problems. Tim also hosts a locally-produced TV program called Tool Time, a home improvement show sponsored by the fictional Binford Tool company who Tim was once a salesman for, alongside his friend and mild-mannered co-host Al Borland (Richard Karn).
The series received a video game tie-in, Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit!, for the Super Nintendo in 1994.
