This tag collects various styles of school uniform unique to, or most commonly associated with, Japan. The two most well known, and easily identified styles of Japanese school uniform are the Serafuku (example 1 above), and lesser known, but distinctive Gakuran (example 2 above). While the Serafuku and Gakuran form the majority of this tag, it covers any style of school uniform that is clearly Japanese.
For example, "Japanese school uniform" can include uniforms similar to the serafuku, but lacking the characteristic sailor-style collar that defines serafuku (see example 3), or uniforms that combine blazers/cardigans/sweaters, bows/neckties and pleated skirts.
If the style of uniform is not clearly Japanese, and/or commonly seen in other countries, use the generic school uniform tag instead.
