Posey is a character from the original 1986 My Little Pony series, a yellow coated, pink maned earth pony. According to Lauren Faust, Posey was the inspiration for Friendship is Magic's Fluttershy.

...the gardener of Paradise Estates. Posey is very motherly to all the baby ponies and tends to the Paradise Estate's garden. She loves flowers and other pretty things and is always willing to help those in need although used to judge others by appearance.
