Illustrations aren't books, and books aren't illustrations. They're two different mediums, with their own strengths and weaknesses; one isn't objectively better than the other, and as such, comparison between the two is pointless.

It's nothing personal, at the end of the day you're the one embarassing yourself by making a mountain out of an anthill.
