Character count threshold is BS. I had to shave this down to 986 characters before it would post rather than giving the 'body too long, blips must be <1000 characters' error.
That's why there are missing full stops.

Not really sure why. It's not like I used any multibyte characters (Unicode) that would confuse a bad character counter, it was all ASCII.
