One last question about the guitar I didn't think of earlier. Did you ever use one of those picks (I'm not sure if that's what it's actually called or if it's a nickname for it) to avoid injuring your fingers when playing?

I play both with a plectrum and with my fingers. It depends on what I'm playing.

That is a lot smaller than I expected. I don't know why I was even slightly suprised by an electric bass existing if there's already been electric guitars around for years now.

So that's what the actual name is. I had to search the name to be sure because I remember seeing another thing a guitar player used that looked like some plastic around the fingertips. Just looked it up, I was thinking of something called finger picks.
