SONY does the same thing except with a serif font.but at least there's no real ambiguity as to who it's for. better than having something like Patreon's current tiny inkstain logo that occasionally looks like a weird splotch on a character or the Epic Games Store's weird DS game cart-looking rectangle with text that is just completely unrecognizable when shown at the end of a trailer, y'know, just its most important application.
Good point, yeah. The mark being just a text automatically makes it recognizable, and kinda timeless as well, so it doesn't have to be redesigned into an unfamiliar or even indistinguishable form.
It's one reason why I plan to sign "daleport996" on my art, instead of just the conjoined dp'96 signature.
