I think the only times I've heard a brit (or canadian, or ausie, or kiwi, etc.) use "zee" is with proper nouns (like, if any english speaker said "Dragon Ball Zed" people'd look at them weird, regardless). and, to some extent, the same happens in the other direction as well, with some yanks still using "zed" when it's someon's name or something.

Its most likely because ive been a gamer for many years i probably picked it up from the u.s pronounciations from those tbh
