@ImpidiDinkaDoo: He was Pikachonk (Chonkachu?). The series got people in the US interested in Pocket Monsters back then. Many developments since. Saw the South Park chinpokomon episode earlier today.

I remember listening to the Kanto Poké-rap on VHS.
