Topic: Tag Aliases: Bipedal & Quadruped

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Bipedal. This tag's sister tag, quadruped, is without the "-al" suffix. I feel either both should have the suffix or neither should. Even if you disagree, there are posts for both the suffixed and the suffix-less versions.

Perhaps quadruped should be aliased to quadrupedal and biped to bipedal.

Just to clarify the difference if anyone wonders (maybe only was I):
bipedal = the style of using two legs for locomotion
biped = something that has a bipedal locomotion (verbatim "two feet")

However, in that sense it should probably be biped and quadruped?

I said the same thing

I would suggest other way around, but either way is fine. +1

DragonFox69 probably just answered my question (note the question mark) with his +1, no need to shout.

I didn't shout, I'm just too lazy to type out bold or italic tags. Note that I have Asperger's, so I'm not the best at getting my message across without pissing someone off. I generally mean the best for people around me, but my text doesn't show it all the time. Remember, if I offend you, I probably did not mean to. Do not take it personally. Call me out on it, but don't take it personally. I need the XP so I can level up my social skills. I'm almost to level 13. :P

Wouldn't you just go ahead and do it? Are you waiting for someone to speak up and try to provide a counterargument?

You will have to do a lot more to offend me, I say what I think but try to do so in such a way as to not to upset others, but know this; typing in caps on the internet is quite often equated to shouting in real life.

Aliasing/implicating is not to be taken lightly, making a bad decision usually creates a lot more work than waiting a day or two and sleeping on it, no need to rush things really.

Yeah, but this one is a pretty open-and-shut case.

Yeah, either way works. I suggested the suffixed versions just because "biped" sounds off to me, but upon reading the responses in this thread, yeah, it really does make more sense (though it may be a relatively small difference).

And i think you meant rearing
..guess an alias is in order for this, but ill let parasprite decide.

rearing is always on_hind_legs, but on_hind_legs is not always rearing.

Ahh, I had assumed you were either just in a bad mood or thought I was ignoring you! XD Don't worry about it, I wasn't offended. I am very difficult to offend. ^_^

Yes, I was answering your question (and also agreed with the reasoning you provided).

We usually let them stay pending for a week or so depending on the tags. There have been times where something comes up afterward and those can be quite a mess to clean up once they are approved, so we like to give enough time for others to voice possible concerns before making a final decision. Occasionally I will run them earlier if they are obvious (character -> franchise implications, plural -> singular aliases, etc.) or I have some free time to go through them, but there's still a lot pending right now that have been taking priority.

I'll go ahead and alias these together now.
