Topic: Fave glitch?

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

This is a rare thing but it happens once in a while. When I went to add a post to my favorites and went to my favorites, I noticed that one of the posts was in the top of the 1st page of my favorites...and I added that post to my favorites 3 to 4 pages ago. Is this something that's happening to everyone or is it just me?

i think that happens when a post gets replaced by a bigger version

This would be the only reason I can think of that would explain the behavior. The deletion works more/less like this:

  • Mark post as "deleted"
  • Make (group of users) unfavorite deleted post
  • Make (group of users) favorite new post

Which would have the side effect of pushing it to the front of the favorites (assuming the favorites are actually listed in the order you favorited them, I'm not sure offhand).

This. I actually like the fact that this is the case instead of favorites being listed by ID for two reasons:

1 - If I like a post enough to add it to my favorites then it's good to know that a better version is now available.

2 - You can use metatags to order favorites by post order if you wish (add order:id to the search bar along with fav:username) but you can't do this to order tags by when you added them to your favorites list (I think lol).

It's the best way to have it I feel.

On e621, I once had favorited an image and noticed it appeared twice, directly adjacent of each other.

I got rid of the extra later.

I've had that happen a couple of times, but I just press -Favorite to fix the glitch. I've also seen pictures get favorited 4 or 5 times consecutively by some users, but I don't remember any specific examples. Interestingly, (based on another user who had this glitch) the duplicates don't appear to be counted in your fav count.

Another glitch I have, and still have for some reason, is a +1 upload limit in comparison to my posts.

Not sure how that happened, but I don't really care.

Yeah to be honest I don't find it to be an issue to me because it's not that common to me, I don't see it to be an increasing issue though.

1b - Votes do not carry over to the new version so you have to open it to vote on it again.

Funny how, when you are banned, you can still fave posts, and construct (most likely insulting) messages on your page :p
most useless feature ever I'd say

Yes, very constructive messages, like fuck lists... LOL
