Topic: Can't connect to e621

Posted under General

Ever since September I can't connect to e621. Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable plugged, it doesn't matter. The connection hangs for a few seconds and then shows me the 522 error. (http://i.imgur.com/AkzKINr.png)
However, I can connect with Google's cache or by using their translate service.
Does anyone know what is causing this and how can I fix it? FA or e926 is fine (obviously).

I am going to ask you to run a traceroute. Depending on your OS, these steps might be slightly different. This is a diagnostic test used to troubleshoot connection problems with specific sites.

Open a terminal:

  • Windows: Open command prompt. You can find this in the start menu under Accessories, or you can hit the windows key + R and type in cmd.
  • OS X: Open terminal. You can find this in Applications -> Utilities, or go to Launchpad and type in terminal.
  • Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, Chrome OS): Tell me what you use and I can walk you through it.
  • Mobile devices, like a tablet or iPhone: You may not be able to do this. If possible use a desktop computer.

Run traceroute:

  • Windows: Type tracert e621.net
  • OS X and Linux: Type traceroute e621.net

Copy the results and send it to me in a PM. Note that this may take a long time to finish. If you get a message like "Unknown host", make sure you typed the above commands exactly.

Will do, just a heads up though, it might take a couple days. I'm not home atm and I probably won't be for the weekend. I'm viewig this from my tablet.
Thanks for the reply, and sorry for the delay... I'll report back as soon as I can.

Bumping this because I've been having the exact same problem, with the same results as the OP. Has a solution been found? Regardless, I may just go ahead and pm you my traceroute results anyway since no more replies were posted here, hope you don't mind.

And yeah, it's happening on every computer on my network, though it's not my router blocking it. Seems like it could be the ISP (xfinity/comcast) or something weird...

I wouldn't be surprised, Comcast is an asshole. I have Centurylink.

Pfft, and some fucking Top 10 website rated Comcast as #1. Please, we've all heard the horror stories.
