Topic: "Indivisible" Lab Zero + 505 Games

Posted under Off Topic

Indivisible
(This post has be edited a few times due to some mistakes made
and for fine tuning!)

It's a "Real Time" RPG with some pretty solid Platforming elements. It's
being developed by Lab Zero who brought us Skullgirls with is probably
one of the most player friendly fighting games out there and punished by 505 Games
publishers of games like Brothers a Tale of Two Sons and Payday 2!

The game's getting pretty far along in development
(Indivisible prototype Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gveZ7euGB4g )
and currently having a indiegogo campaign to help in the development of the finished projects
(Link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/indivisible-an-rpg-by-lab-zero-and-505-games#/ )

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts where one the games development!
(Frankly I think the games awesome on every merits but, I'm a really
sucker for RPG let alone something that as the same design and aesthetic of skullgirls =)

If you wanna get the game's prototype to play it for yourself look no further then here!

Looks nice, and it flows like water, but sadly the gameplay seems like something I'd get bored with rather quickly. (I'm fairly avid with RPG's, so it's not that I don't like the genre.) Maybe the battles get flashier or more complex as the game goes on, but as it it seems rather simplistic, and not exactly in a good way.

I can see how you came to that and that's what I've been thinking for the most part too. Though I adore the game for my own personal reasons, I can't say it's without faults. The silver lining would be that this is just a prototype and still under development.

I'm sure if they get funded the finish project will be a lot more flashier then what we've
seen so far.

505 games didn't create Terraria, they ported it to console and did some minor changes to the game, but re-logic created the entire rest of Terraria.

With that said, while they made a good port to the consoles the things they added to Terraria were boring at best, so I wouldn't really get my hopes too high for them.

Oh sorry about the miss information, I'm not all that familiar with 505 Games as with Lab Zero and just went with what I found on a quick google search of there name.

I might be grasping a straws here but, Lab Zero's team could always be the one to add the flare. I mean considering they came up with this:

*Spoiler* This secret enemy in the game and what you had to do to get to it in the Indivisible prototype: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdFhQTi5xBY

It's probably not the best examples but, still I think it shows they have a
pretty descent amount of creativity going for them so they could probably
compensate for 505 Games in that area. (if they get funded that is.)

The game is good so far. For a prototype I wasn't expecting much, but given that Indivisble runs on the same engine as Skullgirls (Z-Engine) it was to be expected that they would have a stable release (I checked the files and it even had a Filia sprite :P ).

The animation, as SG, is fluid. Great overall. Like I said, having the Z-Engine and practically being still developing with it, has given them an advantage of creating the game at a fast rate.

On the sound area I still hear somebody beating Double or Big Band or using Painwheel's buer blades, but I guess that'll change for more adequate sounds (or not?).

What I don't like much, but I may be nitpicking, is the "running > jumping > falling > sudden complete stop > running again" thing. It kinda breaks the "fast paced" part of the game (and maybe future speedruns but iunno about that).

Also, there's that little thing with the map being over Ajna and that it covers the entire screen when pressing R1 (I'm currently not on my laptop, or near it for that matter, so I can't show a screenshot).

I haven't read the entire story so I don't know what's going on or how it happened. I just know that I never found again the blue thing that runs away when you get near it (it's on the icon of the game and it has a ":P" face)

But anyway, I'm hoping they reach the goal because it looks promising. I'm just waiting for some time until I have enough to at least back it with $30 (which in my currency is almost $500 MXN) to play it when it's finished

I hope they reach there goal too, The gameplay does plays to most of what
I like an a RPG (If it was turn based then It would be perfect in my opinion)
through I'm really curious to see how the story going to play out in this
setting.

If I did to pick something that didn't sit right with me, it
would the movesets and the character "ZEBEI"

For the moveset you have your basic like: attack and special plus a few like
high and low attacks. True the characters do have diversity in their moves like
what there high, low and special do in a battle, especially for Ajna that
actually change depending on what weapon you have equip at the time but, I feel
like for the what the game's length might be that would begin to wear down on
you after a while so I hope they expand that letting you customize your attacks.

Speaking of moves and attacks, My issues with Zebei is that he seems really
redundant compared to the other characters like Razmi and Tungar who can do his
job of hitting a foe from a range and multiple times better. later on in the
prototype he sorta loses his role as back when you could have Tumgar in
the front lines while you have Razmi for support make him really just
"Extra Damage" which is nice but, doesn't really add to much if anything
strategy wise in a battle. I just really hope he has a more major role in
a battle in the final game beside being "Extra Damage" since he's the "Angelo"
of the party. Maybe being some form of buffer or synthesis.
