Some kind of wand or staff does not make a female magical.

Images portraying some sort of spell, or magical conjuring can be tagged with magic as such.

That's a bad alias as that's not what that tag is for.

Edit: this is an awful tag alias, just as bad as implicating reptile to avian because birds are technically reptiles

It's a common anime genre, and most of those are recognizable as magical girls.
Maybe alias it to magical_girl_outfit?

I did not suggest aliasing to another thing, I am suggesting invalidating magical_girl as a tag as it is nebulous, or objectively indescribable.

(good luck tagging something here as 'vaporwave')

If there is consensus that magical_girl is a genre-specific costume (or 'look') then Genjar has hit the nail on the head with magical_girl_outfit.

I've approved an alias -> magical_girl_outfit for now
