We have:

Can something be aliased here?

Personally, I'd prefer aliasing both to dark_genitalia,

which fits with the other *_genitalia and dark_* tags

There's also a possibility of light_genitalia etc. (think tanlines)

We could also have a general tag for genitalia that are different from the rest of the body color, i.e

  • dark genitals on a light body
  • light genitals on a dark body

Maybe color_contrast_genitalia?

which goes with the color_contrast tag

I think this is a bit too neurotic to tag. Shouldn't it be sufficient to tag black_genitals or whatever applicable color instead?

No it wouldnt because these tags imply genitalia in a color shade, not a black tone

non the less i find it kind of surprising these even exist considering the recent controversy over cyan and blue tones and the different shades and tints of the two.

I really wish this was a tag cause its a kink of mine. So having a tag for characters who have darker junk than the rest of their body would be great.

Dark genitalia listing

Here's a listing of some possible name formats for the darkened_genitals tag currently in use:

dark_*

  • dark_genitalia
  • dark_genitals

darkened_*

  • Any suggestions for a possible alias?
  • Any counterpoints to the following alias:
    • dark*_genital* a-> dark_genitalia?
  • Any improvements to the above?

(I'm planning to start linking the tag across wiki pages, but if it's aliased to something else later, then that would just be a giant waste of time)

The tag describes something that is often clearly visible and can hence be tagged, it's also related to a character and the genitalia which (for better or worse) sometimes makes it more important, so I see no reason to not allow it being tag.

Also at @Ruku, this tag would be a contrast tag, the <color>_fur/feathers/scales/body etc. are generally whole body tags, these are not, so they're not directly relatable.

Not voting for dark_genitalia which I feel is a bit too ambiguous (for reasons touched above), darkened or darker feels like a more relative term which suggest that something is darker than something else, obvious thing would be body vs genitalia. E.g. black_penis is definitely dark_genitalia without any doubt, so a character with black body and black genitalia would definitely apply to that, but I wouldn't tag darker/darkened for that one.

Also I believe darkened_genitalia (not genitals) is probably best, simply because color_contrast_genitalia would be a majority of the male (and probably female) genitalia because of how furries generally work, i.e. many males have (semi-)internal genitalia which have obvious obvious color differences to both skin and their fur, especially since white countershading is very common. And another majority have colorful or black genitalia which makes the tag pretty much useless if such tagging starts to pick up.
