Topic: Sticky forum suggestion

So I noticed there are a lot of useful forums out there, about how to use certain scripts, general tips, guides, walkthroughs, guidelines, etc. However, they get lost easily unless they're stored in your notepad or something. Having them scattered all over the site isn't the nicest either.
Isn't it an idea to create a sticky forum thread in which the links to these kind of forums are stored and categorized and sorted, first per category and then numerically?

Extension: I was wondering if it's an idea to create an ABC guide for basic things like tagging and posting, for new users, to speed up their progress and diminishes their amount of flaws for us to clean up when they just start tagging and posting.

We can't have too many sticky topics or the first page would be nothing but stickies. There's ways we can improve this but they haven't been worked on yet. So for now we have to be pretty conservative with what we sticky.

Yeah I saw. Perhaps some things can be unstickied once it's out of the way, like the January bug thread.

Aside a guide, tips and tricks are helpful too. And generally, a complete guide about everything would just be better than having separate smaller guides spread up.
I've written really long guides before.

Actually, that link has vanished from my Upload page...

There's the forum categories page, if that's what you mean

What I meant was a forum post which contains sections about multiple topics, from guides to script tools.
For beginning users and as an easy lookup for useful things.

Might it not get stickied, it can also just be linked via a comment and such.

Isn't this what the wiki is for? https://e621.net/wiki/show?title=help%3Ahome

If you feel like writing a guide or what have you I'd just use the wiki (e.g., howto:some_guide) or possibly help:some_guide.

  • e621:index - Basically just "official" pages
  • help:index - I may end up limiting the help: wikis to only official but I'll deal with that when I get a chance to copy everything over
  • howto:index

What's on there is still a bit scattered but I've been pruning them a little bit at a time.
