Topic: How do I search posts without a rating?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

As an example, I do a search of one tag and get 30 pages back. When I searched the same tag of all three ratings on separate tabs, the page results all added up to like 27. So there's 3 pages of posts that don't have any rating tags. How do I search for those separately? Is this a bug? Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help in advance.

What searches are you using? Keep in mind that you need to use fox rating:explicit instead of fox explicit for the search to work properly.

I'm already aware of that. I guess what I'm getting at is, when I'm searching for specific ratings, the ones without ratings will not show up.

So does each picture that gets uploaded here HAVE to be rated as S,E or Q before being submitted? If they do, that means that I am making an error somewhere.

Yes I do know about how to format tags. I look at the cheat sheet often XD.

All images have a rating, the default on the upload page is Q, and you can't untick that.
I'd personally say it's a caching issue (page numbers are cached for searches), and if someone changes tags that can affect the total number of posts, or the rest of the search shows strange behavior in relation to the rating terms.

What exactly where your searches? You could also always just go the last page and check if it's really 30 pages or if the last page(s) are empty.

If you meant that it says there are 30 pages of posts but you can't go further than 27, and clicking on 28 to 30 shows nothing, that's because somebody's editing tags right now and it takes a while till the search backend updates page count.

Ok I think I get it now. So whenever a tag is currently being editted, it can mess up searches because it's not done being edited.

If there's 30 pages of posts, I am able to get to 30. Let's say I have 30 pages of MLP (I know there's way more) and I have my max number set at 320 per page which would be 9,600 posts total of my search result.

So since you guy said every post has a rating (with Q being default) that means if I search the raiting:Q, rating:S, and rating:e all in different tabs, they should still equal out to 9,600 posts total. But sometimes it'll be missing like 200 or something. Which from what you guys told me, those can be in editing or it's just a weird glitch. It's not always but sometimes.
