Did you manually type it? :p
You can fill aliases in here.
And implications go here.

*flips the table*

F**k it all, why does this site have to be so goddamn finicky with its protocols for everything? There's seriously a FORM for alias suggestions and implication suggestions?! What's wrong with just typing in a new topic??

*attempts to facedesk; forgets that the table is flipped over and crashes headfirst into the floor*

...F**k my life...

Calm down, dude. It's bad form to start roleplaying in a very not-role-play site, and to censor cusses on an adult-oriented site anyways.

What's "Wrong" with just typing it in manually is that the admins won't see it that way. Using the form not only creates a forum topic, but also creates a placeholder on the alias list, which is marked "New" so that admins can find it on that list much more easily than surfing through countless not-tag-related forum topics.

1) I swear, if I had a nickel for every time I've had to clarify this... What I did in that comment is NOT RP'ing. Role-play specifically means playing the part of a character and acting out a scenario with one or more other people playing the parts of other characters. What I did was describe my figurative mental reaction to the information I was receiving from HotUnderTheCollar's comment. There's nothing in the rules against describing an imaginary reaction. Personally, I think that I have fairly good reason to react that way, seeing as knowing the rules on this damn site means going on a f**king scavenger hunt just to find them all and getting slapped on the wrist for failing to know one particular rule because I had no clue where it was listed and therefore never saw it.

2) I know from experience that the admins tend to be highly sensitive to any comment they perceive as aggressive towards another user. Uncensored profanity often plays a major factor in making a comment look aggressive. Therefore, I intentionally censor any major swearing in order to tone down my comment so that the admins aren't as likely to think I'm attacking someone and slam a neutral (or worse, negative) record on my ass.

3) If I'm supposed to use these so-called forms for alias and implication suggestions, then there ought to be links on the Tags and Wiki section of the forums where I can easily see them.

---

Bottom line:

Does this mean I have to resubmit my suggestion or not? Is this thread acceptable for this one instance, or do I have to re-suggest it using the alias suggestion form?

What Furrin said. If I happen to miss this thread during the day or two that it's on the front page (busy with work, fixing bugs, and so on), then chances are it will be forgotten about and never acted on.

Good idea. I added links to the tags/wiki forum description. Hopefully this will help others unfamiliar with the site to try to find what is otherwise a fairly obscure tool.

Nah, no I got it. Approved

Technically, a character can be something from real life. In this case, you. By typing in that you slam your face into things and throw things around, you are roleplaying.

Hey! I am not a character. I am a human being with thoughts, emotions, feelings, and (in my case) very poor impulse control, a very whacked-out abnormal sense of humor, and an extremely overactive raging libido.

Role-Playing literally means 'playing a role'. I'm just being myself, and my natural demeanor cannot-- WILL not-- be degraded into nothing more than a 'role'. "Legally insane" is my default mode, and my comments are bound to reflect as much. *drops mic; ears start bleeding from the feedback*

...I did not think that through very well...

But seriously though, people on this site post actions between asterisks all the time on this site, and I don't see them getting slapped on the wrist for it (seriously, I check their record display on their profile). So that's not even close to RP'ing.

Quit roleplaying.

With all respect, Ratte, I'm following the rules as it is. (Please treat this comment as an appeal to reason, not a display of defiance)

According to the rules page (which is still accurate as of last month, it seems-- last rules page update was Feb. 8 this year), the Policy section on Role-Play reads:

"There are acceptable forms of role-play, typically that which reinforces a point, creates humor, or otherwise does not cause a disruption. Even in this setting, however, role-play must be just a single one or two line comment, and cannot be made in response to another role-player."

While I may have come off as a bit dramatic, I kept the discussion on-topic and didn't derail the thread. Once parasprite approved the tag alias I suggested, the last thing I did was explain my position to Furrin Gok in one last comment. I was already done here, there was no need to reprimand me like that.
