Topic: Unimplication of tuft --> fur

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Reason: One exception to the tuft → fur implication that comes to mind is tufts of feathers on avian characters.

An alternative to removing the implication could be to have fur_tuft implicate fur and feather_tuft (a new tag) implicate feathers, etc. But it seems simpler to just unimplicate. What do you think?

Should tuft imply fluffy as well?

Probably not, since certain characters are clearly fluffier than others.

I'd rather not have them implicated, fluffs will be swallowed by the overwhelming amount of tufts, it's hard enough finding nice fluffy characters as it is.

Yeah. Fluffy is an all-around excess of fur or feathers, while tuft is partial.

For comparison, fluffle_puff is fluffy, while the tuft on Renamon's neck is, well, a tuft.

Bumping/necroing original proposal to unimplicate tuft from fur as well as this suggestion:

And finally, as inspired by the previous 2 posts, should we go ahead and designate the fluffy tag as applying only to characters who are thoroughly fluffy (not just having a tuft or two, or a fluffy tail)? I don't want to jump into editing the tags and wiki without some community input/approval.

I've made the following changes:

Note that this is a sizable tagging project, but sorting it by feathers will probably simplify it a bit.

That sounds good to me. I'm less sure about fluffy_tail, if only because those would probably get tagged as fluffy anyways.

fluffy_body

maybe?

Edit: Huh, most of them aren't actually tagged with fluffy

Nice. I noticed there's an existing fur_tuft -> tuft alias that we could get rid of now that this is in place.

Nice catch, I completely missed that. Alias deleted
