Topic: New Tag? Rave/Club?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Something I've personally been irked about is when I try going around looking for art with an overall club or rave theme, and am reminded there's not a tag for that (that I am aware of). Was wondering if anyone else thinks there is enough of a point in adding one, or if it'd just be one of those tags with maybe 100 posts at most?

Well nightclub and rave are both in wide use already for that. There should be plenty of what you're looking for under those.

....For some reason searching "club" and "rave" never returned any results? Odd. I never searched "nightclub" though, and in fact I can't *personally* remember seeing them in the tags, but my memory is spotty.

Thanks.

I don't find rave all that interesting. But to answer your question, it's probably because it crazy, and that you can sneak in a little sex. :P

No problem. And that does seem strange. Seems like a search with rave should have brought up something. Unless you were searching both tags at the same time: a search like club rave (for example) would only find an image if it had both club AND rave tags on it and it would have ignored the images with only the rave tag on them. And since club isn't really being used, if you'd searched tried searching for images tagged with both it wouldn't have found anything. So that would be my guess of what might have happened before.

So if you wanted to search for images with either nightclub OR rave then you'd want to use the ~ symbol to search for any image with either tag. So searching ~nightclub ~rave should bring up every image tagged with at least one of those tags. And obviously searching combinations like ~nightclub ~rave scalie would find any scalie + nightclub AND any scalie + rave but leave out any results which didn't have a scalie. If that makes sense.

In case it helps, all of the search features are listed on this page here: https://e621.net/help/cheatsheet for easy reference. There's actually a lot of ways to customize a search on here.

Sadly, until we eventually implement tag groups that act a little like notes in a way, the use of quotes will not be a thing.

What's the deal with furries and DJs? :V

Whenever I'm wondering "is there a tag for this?" I use the tag search with asterisks before and/or after the word I'm looking for.
