Yeah, my hornjob/horn_job one seems to have been completely ignored.

You must keep in mind people are busy, a lot of the admins are still working though the backup work on here, someone will get to it sooner or later.

Plus that they're not getting paid to do it.

They all used to be done fast, most not even lasting a week before being accepted/rejected.

Yes but people have lifes to deal with, and work to do outside this site. Its slowed down a ot of things, but they will get to it sooner or later, just wait

They have time to alias crotchboobs but not tags that are actually pointless.

Many aliases are left unapproved pending more discussion or because existing discussion was inconclusive.
Other than that, we have lives outside of e621. We are an all-volunteer staff and we work to maintain this site out of some misguided form of love for all of you, but even so, sometimes real life happens and we have to take care of it.

e621 is not as perfect as we think it is.
Having alias/implication threads unanswered for several days while the administration posts in vanity threads is quite frustrating, especially after most of those threads don't require more than "yes" or "no" for an answer.
We are the people and the admins are our angels, if they don't take control it's not a happy time, but a sad time, because there is no one else to tell us what to do.

Over time, from various boards both free and corporate, I've discovered that moderators and administrators need time to relax, even to the point of posting in vanity/joke/whatever threads while others are left to be, because it keeps them wanting to participate in the process.
Especially for unpaid moderators, if it's nothing but work-work-work, they eventually stop wanting to do it, and the staffing turnover increases, leading to less-experienced moderators on average and overall crappier performance.

Looks like there's a bit of a backlog with aliases and implications again. Would any admin with the spare time mind sorting through them?

My god, can't you be patient? I don't quite understand whats such the big deal, surely you could just spend an extra moment of your PRECIOUS TIME typing a few more tags rather than spending that time and more responding with an impatient reminder.
You remind me of the kind of person who would keep asking "Are we there yet?" every 2 minutes on a long car ride...

1) It didn't sound like it was worded with that much impatience.
2) The last post was a month ago.

Turns out the recent backlog was a problem server-side. We were approving the aliases and it was creating the job tasks to make the necessary changes, but it was never actually processing them. I think it stretched on for so long because everyone was just assuming the changes were going through.

That also explains why aliases created by admins were showing as unapproved. I found that strange too.
